The holiday season is always a special time of year when people venture out to do their shopping. - Avoid driving at night or all alone, if possible, and do your shopping during the day. If you must shop at night, park in a well-lighted area.
- Keep all car doors locked and windows closed while in or out of your car.
- Avoid parking next to vans, trucks with camper shells, or cars with tinted windows. Always be aware of your surroundings.
- Park as close as you can to where you are shopping and pay attention to where you parked.
- Don't ever leave your car alone with children inside or with your motor running.
- Do not leave packages or valuables on the seat of your car as this creates a temptation for thieves. Try to put your packages in your trunk or on the floor of your car, out of sight as best you can.
