Reliable packaging avoids Negative Marketing

Days before her wedding, bride-to-be Jessica came home to a horrifying sight.

The package that contained the most important item of clothing she would ever wear, her wedding dress, was seriously damaged. Not only was the cardboard bent and crushed, but the bottom of the box was soggy from being left out in the rain.

As Jessica began to open the box, which was torn so badly at the corners she could see her dress through one thin layer of plastic wrap, her heart raced with anxiety. Would the dress be ripped, wet, or spattered with mud? How would she even go about repairing it with her wedding just days away?

Thankfully, she got to the package in time before any serious damage could be done. But from the time she picked up the box to the time she completed opening it to make sure everything was okay, her emotions ranged from confusion to dread to fear. How could a company put her wedding dress at risk?

Even though they couldn’t control the actions of a delivery person, they could control the packaging by using sturdy materials and interior packaging design that protects its contents from the wear and tear of shipping and delivery. Additionally, the packaging could have been made with eco-friendly and recycled materials.

Ten years later, Jessica still tells people never to order from that company.

A decade of negative marketing could have been prevented if the clothing company had chosen an expert supplier, a packaging partner, to help them package and distribute their items with care.

Here is a quote from 6th City Marketing:

"One creative content marketing approach that has helped us generate organic traffic lately has been writing a mix of both evergreen and trending content. For example, the types of evergreen content we have written include things like "Product Packaging Tips for Start-Ups" or "Signs You Should Hire a Fulfillment Company". This type of content is written to be a helpful resource for anyone at any time and can easily be updated with additional information as needed. On the other hand, some of our trending pieces of content we've written are topics like "The Effects of Inflation on the Packaging Industry" or "Packaging Industry Events and Conferences To Attend in 2023". These topics can become outdated more quickly but are very timely. This combination of content works well because the evergreen content consistently brings in traffic throughout the year, while the trending content may bring in traffic only for a few weeks to months."
